Marana Health is seeking a Staff Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice (FNP) promotes and maintains patients' health by providing medical services to all age groups to the extent which licensed and/or certified. The FNP uses independent judgment in carrying out daily job responsibilities. The position will be supervised by the Chief Clinical Officer . This FNP
- Street Medicine role is uniquely focused on providing compassionate, community-based care to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. The FNP
- Street Medicine will be an integral part of our street medicine and outreach efforts, addressing complex medical needs that are often influenced by psycho-social challenges, social determinants of health (SDOH), and substance use disorders.

The ideal candidate is passionate about serving vulnerable populations, comfortable providing care in non-traditional settings (such as encampments, shelters, and mobile units), and experienced-or willing to become waivered to prescribe medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) . With the support of our integrated in-house behavioral health team, the FNP will work collaboratively to ensure patients have access to counseling and therapy services.

This role is more than clinical-it's an opportunity to advocate, connect, and restore dignity through healthcare. It includes a twice-a-month weekend (Saturday or Sunday) field commitment, which is accounted for (offset) within the regular work schedule.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner master's degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), with active license to practice in Arizona required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Primary Health Care environment preferred.
  • Prior experience working with homeless, unstably housed, or substance-using populations is highly desirable.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and patient centered principles.
  • Experienced working with culturally diverse, low-income, ethnic minority, and marginalized populations, showing sensitivity and understanding of their unique needs.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of social determinants of health (SDOH), community health frameworks, and public health issues in vulnerable settings.
  • Familiar with harm reduction practices, wound care, and infectious disease management in underserved environments .
  • Capable of quickly assimilating, assessing, and acting upon new concepts, trends, and initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport under challenging conditions and represent the organization professionally across varied settings.
  • Able to respond to questions from leadership, providers, managers, and healthcare team members with clarity and diplomacy.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, analyzing, and applying complex documents, policies, and regulations in alignment with state and federal standards.
  • Proficient in preparing, submitting, and documenting clear and concise reports using EHR systems and mobile documentation tools .
  • Functions effectively and independently in field settings with limited resources, exhibiting flexibility, creativity, and resilience.
  • Strong team player with effective collaboration skills and comfort working within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
