Position Highlights:
The Lin Lab in the Department of Physiology/Department of Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator I. The Lin laboratory seeks to understand how glial cells and their networks maintain brain health—and what happens when these systems break down during development, aging, and inflammation. The successful candidate will assist the PI with experiment planning, preparation, conduct experimental procedures, and assist with data collection.
They will assist the PI in maintaining laboratory SOPs and IACUC protocol, and train students in laboratory protocols and lab culture.

Duties & Responsibilities Laboratory Coordination- Maintain laboratory compliance with university policies.
- Purchase laboratory supplies.
- Maintain, repair, and/or oversee the handling of laboratory equipment and supplies in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Organize and coordinate laboratory space.
- Maintain and update records into laboratory database.
- Maintain and oversee animal protocols and any additional regulatory over‑site paperwork.
- Assist as needed with the coordination of research activities, such as tissue processing, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and dissociation of tissue for cell sorting and culture.
- Assist the PI with minor animal procedures such as restrain animals for clinical assessment, body fluid collection and processing.
- Train student employees, volunteers, visitors, etc. on laboratory equipment usage and data collection.
- Maintains records for laboratory safety training compliance of laboratory members.
- Demonstrated comprehensive wet laboratory experience, including proficient execution of immunohistochemistry (IHC) protocols, sterile mammalian cell culture techniques, and safe, compliant animal handling procedures.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience may be required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience in relevant disciplines such as neurobiology, nutrition, and immunology.
