Paramedic

This is a Per Diem (as needed) position working at Northwest Medical Center.

Carries out therapeutic measures for patients in the Emergency Department while working with the emergency team as directed by the Administrative Medical Director or online qualified physician (per R9-25-204, 205), and ED Nursing Leadership.

• Required:
  
  High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Preferred:
  Post high school vocational or specialized training.

• Required:
  
  One year experience in a pre-hospital setting.

• Perform medical treatments, procedures, and skills that are within the scope of practice for a CEP as defined by ADHS and permissible by both Northwest Medical Center and the Administrative Medical Director.
• Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment.
• Engaging and effective communication and service skills.
• Adherence to policy and procedures.
• Process improvement oriented.
• Self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed.

• AZ state CEP certification – OR – National EMS Certification as a Paramedic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications.
