Located in Tucson, AZ, our Respite Program provides temporary relief to primary caregivers while ensuring youth receive care in a safe, structured and nurturing environment. We provide services to individuals from birth to the age of 17, who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties. Youth get to enjoy a wide variety of recreational and enrichment opportunities, including arts and crafts, roller skating, gardening, movies, arcade, park visits, and community outings (museums, parades, festivals, sporting events).

We operate out of residential houses, creating a fun and safe home‑like environment for those in our care.

The Summer Lead Direct Care Professional (Lead DCP) protects the health and safety of individuals while assisting the Program Coordinators with supervising, planning, and implementing program activities while managing children’s behaviors. Lead DCP’s provide direct supervision and assist with the day‑to‑day activity schedule that is set up for individuals in the program.

Duties include helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de‑escalating situations, treatment plan implementation, personal care (bathing, dressing), household cleaning (mopping, sweeping, dusting, laundry, trash, dishes), medication management, transport, and fostering social skills. Other duties include documenting progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs, adhering to the activity schedule, and attending clinical supervision meetings. Lead staff assist with the planning and implementation of year‑round enrichment activities and community outings, as well as serving as a role model, mentor, leader, and trainer to the Direct Care Professional staff.

Pay

Range

$18 – $19.80 per hour.

End‑of‑Assignment Summer Bonus

Available to eligible staff.

Scheduling Options

Full‑time: 32‑40 hours per week. Part‑time: 24‑30 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License and a 36‑month DMV history check
  • Two (2) years experience in behavioral health service delivery, or one (1) year Devereux experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Ability to attend New Hire Orientation Monday‑Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. for 8 days or revised New Hire Orientation May 2‑3 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. (paid)
  • Pre‑employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24 hours of offer with negative results
  • Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions. Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36‑411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a person’s employment record contains a six‑month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the Department of Public Safety.
