Position Overview: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in leading Front of House operations with a focus on hospitality, training, and team culture
. This role is highly visible on the floor and plays a key role in building relationships with guests, developing staff, and ensuring consistent service standards. The AGM leads by example, creates a positive team environment, and balances hospitality excellence with operational discipline. Fear-based management is not acceptable.
- Act as a visible host on the floor during service
- Build relationships with regulars and first-time guests
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Coach the team to anticipate guest needs and create memorable experiences
- Train, coach, and support FOH team members
- Reinforce service standards consistently and fairly
- Create a respectful, supportive, and energetic team culture
- Identify and develop future leaders within the team
- Assist with FOH scheduling based on business needs
- Track labor and adjust staffing to support service and cost goals
- Monitor overtime and communicate concerns to the GM
- Support opening and closing operations
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards
- Maintain cash handling procedures and operational communication
- Previous restaurant leadership experience preferred
- Manager Food Handler and Title IV certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to lead calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays (Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day)
- Salary: $65,000–$72,000 annually, DOE
- Paid Time Off: Two weeks of PTO
- Health Benefits: Available after 60 days
