Position Highlights

The University of Arizona College of Information Science focuses on the intersection of people, data, and technology, offering innovative programs in information science, data science, cybersecurity, game design, and immersive technologies. Established in 2023 and expanded in 2025, the college provides STEM-designated undergraduate and master’s degrees, and a Ph.D. in Information. It emphasizes computational thinking, ethical reasoning, and multicultural communication while driving research and partnerships such as Arizona Cybersecurity Academy, AI Core, Gaming and Virtual Worlds, Human-Centered Computing, and other research.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in field of expertise.
  • Plan course delivery, align content with other courses as needed, and provide feedback on student work.
  • Advise students, hold office hours, and provide student support.
  • Assist with Capstone projects or individual student projects as needed, engaging in project-based pedagogy when possible.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field (for undergraduate instruction).
  • Ph.D. in a related field AND a minimum of 3 years working as a professional expert in the field (for graduate instruction).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in Information Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Library Science, Media Ecology, Game Media, Gaming Behavior, Game Design and Production, Game Development, or other related field.
  • Content expertise that aligns with enrollment needs.

Compensation

Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per annum. Hourly rate: $46.88 – $56.25 per hour for remote hourly employment.

Work Hours & FTE

Part‑time, 16-30 hours per week, 0.40-0.75 FTE.
