Oracle Specialist/ Consultant, Database Administrator, Data Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA (5+ years) to backfill a long‑tenured team member and ensure continued stability of critical database environments. This role focuses on day‑to‑day Oracle database support, knowledge transfer, and documentation, while also supporting application‑related environments. Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite, Oracle Apps, or Oracle Fusion is a plus, but the core requirement is hands‑on Oracle DBA expertise.
The team is beginning adoption of Oracle 19c and gradually transitioning toward cloud technologies (OCI/Azure).
- Provide day‑to‑day Oracle DBA production support
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Oracle database environments
- Partner with the outgoing DBA to ensure a smooth transition and effective knowledge transfer
- Update and maintain technical documentation
- Support databases running on Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) architecture
- Assist with initiatives including adoption and support of Oracle 19c, longer‑term transition toward OCI and Azure, and supporting environments that include SQL Server
- Collaborate with senior technical team members while owning assigned DBA responsibilities

Skillsand Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment
- Strong core Oracle DBA skills, including database support, troubleshooting, monitoring, backup, recovery and day‑to‑day operational support
- Experience supporting Oracle databases in Linux/Unix/Windows environments
- Ability to step into a replacement role, absorb tribal knowledge, and participate in knowledge transfer and documentation updates
- Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS)
- Oracle Apps DBA exposure
- Oracle Fusion experience
- Experience with Oracle 19c
- Experience with Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)
- Shell scripting (bash/ksh)
- SQL Server experience
- Cloud exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Azure / Azure SQL
