Volunteer Role On-Call Word Press Troubleshooter
Do you know Word Press well enough that mysterious plugin errors, syncing glitches, and random website weirdness don’t immediately send you into a panic? Our Safe Space is looking for a friendly, experienced Word Press volunteer to serve as an on‑call troubleshooter, occasional technical guide, and patient tutor as needed.
About UsOur Safe Space is a 100% volunteer‑run 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating welcoming spaces for personal growth, creativity, connection, and confidence‑building. We host free workshops, book clubs, support groups, and community events online and in Tucson. As we've grown, so has our website — and every now and then Word Press likes to keep us humble.
AboutThe Role
We’re not looking for someone to completely rebuild our website or commit to a huge ongoing schedule. We’re looking for a trusted go‑to person who can occasionally:
- Troubleshoot Word Press issues
- Help identify plugin conflicts or syncing problems
- Help with Meta and Google Analytics connectivity
- Suggest simple solutions when expansion is needed
- Answer occasional questions by email
- Explain and tutor when needed
- Provide guidance before little problems become big ones
Examples of the types of questions you might receive include:
• “Why are Meetup events suddenly missing from the website?”
• “Should we set everything to auto‑update?”
- Comfortable with Word Press and plugins
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Good communicator
- Patient and collaborative
- Able to explain technical topics simply
- Enjoy solving puzzles and helping nonprofit teams
- Elementor
- Google Analytics / GTM / Meta
- Event plugins or calendar integrations
- Word Press hosting environments
Very flexible. Most weeks will involve no contact n needed, it will be an occasional quick question, troubleshooting need, or advice on how to add more functionality to the page. Think of yourself as a “trusted website lifeline” rather than a traditional volunteer shift. We rely on your support to keep things running smoothly without mystery website explosions.
