Role

Network Engineer, Principal Specialist – Raytheon Digital Technology - Classified Infrastructure Services, Tucson, AZ – Onsite. Active U.S. clearance required on day 1. U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility. Relocation eligibility per company policy.

What you will Do
  • Focus on inter-team communication and documentation of network details to support and enable smooth project growth.
  • Preferred experience with Cisco ISE (802.1X), Solar Winds, and setting up client-server environments for government networks.
  • Maintain smooth operation of voice and data networks.
  • Plan, evaluate, coordinate, and perform installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice networks.
  • Develop technical expertise across voice and data networks hardware/software interconnection (switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.).
  • Maintain network management software platforms and propose cost-optimized solutions aligned with future needs and redundancy.
  • Ensure appropriate network documentation exists or create new documentation as needed (operational instructions, technical diagrams, etc.).
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis for short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance or vendor support.
  • Contribute to network designs, including hardware/software selections, hierarchical architecture, and geographical considerations.
  • Collaborate with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
  • Mentor, train, and share knowledge with the technical team.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
What you will Learn

You will apply your Network Engineering skills to defense-oriented programs. Obtain Security+ within 6 months and CCNA within a year is highly desired.

Qualifications
  • Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years of experience. Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
  • Active, in-scope, transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and CCNA within a year.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE (802.1X), Solar Winds, and government network environments.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards; access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming, network management software, and IP telephony platforms.
  • 1–2 years of experience with network management software; willingness to travel domestically.
  • Knowledge of encryption devices, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance (as applicable).
