Network Engineer, Principal Specialist – Raytheon Digital Technology - Classified Infrastructure Services, Tucson, AZ – Onsite. Active U.S. clearance required on day 1. U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility. Relocation eligibility per company policy.
What you will Do- Focus on inter-team communication and documentation of network details to support and enable smooth project growth.
- Preferred experience with Cisco ISE (802.1X), Solar Winds, and setting up client-server environments for government networks.
- Maintain smooth operation of voice and data networks.
- Plan, evaluate, coordinate, and perform installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice networks.
- Develop technical expertise across voice and data networks hardware/software interconnection (switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.).
- Maintain network management software platforms and propose cost-optimized solutions aligned with future needs and redundancy.
- Ensure appropriate network documentation exists or create new documentation as needed (operational instructions, technical diagrams, etc.).
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis for short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance or vendor support.
- Contribute to network designs, including hardware/software selections, hierarchical architecture, and geographical considerations.
- Collaborate with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
- Mentor, train, and share knowledge with the technical team.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed.
- Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
You will apply your Network Engineering skills to defense-oriented programs. Obtain Security+ within 6 months and CCNA within a year is highly desired.
Qualifications- Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years of experience. Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
- Active, in-scope, transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
- Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and CCNA within a year.
- Experience with Cisco ISE (802.1X), Solar Winds, and government network environments.
- Experience with current cabling and fiber standards; access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
- Experience with Visio diagramming, network management software, and IP telephony platforms.
- 1–2 years of experience with network management software; willingness to travel domestically.
- Knowledge of encryption devices, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
- Current DoD Top Secret security clearance (as applicable).
