Position Overview
Senior System Administrator – Tucson, AZ. Requires an active Secret security clearance and is eligible for relocation assistance. The position is a 2nd shift (2:00 pm–11:00 pm) with an 8% shift differential.
Responsibilities- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Maintain knowledge of Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication.
- Collaborate as a team member in a fast‑paced technological environment.
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate‑to‑high complexity technical problems, including hardware and operating‑system integration.
- Understand RAID data structures, backup technologies, and data integrity solutions.
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
- Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
- Support 24×7 operational systems, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours.
- Travel up to 10% per year to other U.S. domestic locations as business needs dictate.
- Operate in a challenging manufacturing environment where quality execution is critical.
- University‑level education or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Active Directory, VMware, backup and recovery solutions.
- Department of Defense Directive 8140 / 8570 certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
- Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF requirements.
- Experience with data storage technologies such as NAS and SAN.
- Experience with IT project lifecycle management processes.
- Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX or other virtual computing methods.
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, Exchange scripting.
- Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100.
