Ui / UX Designer
Long term W2 contract.
Required Education- B.S. or higher in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or other UX-related field
- Or substitute additional 2-3 years of experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience with a focus on Empathy (synthesizing stakeholder and user sentiment, listening with openness to learn)
- 5+ years with focus on Adaptive Thinking (quickly pivoting with changing requirements, seeing challenges as learning opportunities)
- Thorough understanding of UI best practices and essential graphic design theory
- Proficiency in UI layout, spec, and prototyping tools
- Experience in Ergonomics and HMI research
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Portfolio demonstrating expertise and ability to articulate your process
- Project management experience a plus
- Experience in automotive or other adjacent fields a plus
- Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional data storytelling capability
- Translate qualitative and quantitative research findings (usability testing, field studies, simulations) into clear, prioritized insights and recommendations that inform HMI, display, and overall heavy equipment UX decisions
- Clarify operator, customer, and business needs and synthesize them into evidence-based interaction concepts that support safe, efficient, and intuitive operation of heavy equipment in real-world conditions
- Understand research methodologies and have experience facilitating research for physical-digital systems
- Integrate user research into product designs and design practices
- Communicate with design and cross-functional collaborators on prototype requirements to test and iterate
- Document key goals, themes, elements, and behaviors that must be implemented by downstream design teams
- Create shareable UX artifacts based on the team's research and activities (such as journey maps, storyboards, and user flows)
- Create and maintain shareable UX research artifacts, such as operator journeys, task flows, mental models, storyboards, and experience maps, to align cross-functional teams around operator needs and context of use
- Incorporate ergonomics and human-factors considerations into UX research planning and synthesis, ensuring physical, cognitive, and interaction demands are holistically addressed in HMI and cab experience
- Prioritize research needs/backlog based on product roadmap
