Responsibilities and Duties:

The AzTech SME role is designed to support government programs—primarily within the Department of Defense and Department of Energy—and their contractors. The candidate will serve as a hybrid expert with a split focus between advanced scheduling capabilities and EVM execution, while leveraging automation to streamline processes and enhance reporting. The position involves not only hands‐on management of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and EVMS, but also active mentoring, training, and process improvement using specialized tools and automation platforms.

Responsibilities include:

1. Scheduling Responsibilities:
Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) Development & Analysis
• IMS Build & Quality Assurance:
Develop and maintain detailed IMS using tools like MS Project and Primavera P6, ensuring both horizontal and vertical traceability. This includes managing critical paths, handling date types, and integrating contract, work breakdown, and deliverable information to produce a robust Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
• Schedule Risk Assessment & Critical Path Analysis:
Lead risk assessment initiatives using methodologies such as Monte Carlo simulations. Provide insights into schedule vulnerabilities by analyzing critical and driving paths and executing “what-if” scenarios to quantify risk and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Training & Process

Coaching:

Conduct workshops and training sessions for the PMO team on IMS construction and schedule health techniques. This includes guiding teams through Integrated Baseline Reviews (I ), schedule risk assessments (SRA), and best approaches in scheduling execution.
• Status Reporting & Change Control:
Oversee regular schedule status updates, variance analysis, and ensure the IMS is continuously aligned with evolving program requirements, including the administration of change control processes.
2. Earned Value Management (EVM) Responsibilities EVMS Data Integrity & Compliance:
• EVMS Process Oversight:
Manage and analyze cost and schedule data to identify anomalies. Ensure that earned value data complies with government standards (EIA-748) and that it is effectively integrated into program performance reviews.
• Reporting & Variance Analysis:
Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports, including Variance Analysis Reports (VARs), Estimates At Completion (EACs), and other key metrics. Work closely with finance and control account teams to validate the integrity of the performance data and support decision-making.
• Training & Mentorship:
Provide coaching for IPTLs, CAMs, and the broader program team. Focus on improving narratives, refining variance analysis techniques, and developing corrective action plans to address deviations in performance metrics.
• Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs):
Support I  activities by evaluating the quality of the IMS, preparing for audit events, and assisting the team in responding to I  findings with corrective strategies.
3. Automation & Process Integration Leveraging Technology to Enhance Efficiency:
• Tool Development & Customization:
Utilize and customize specialized tools such as Run!

AzTech (an MS Project add-in) to automate routine scheduling tasks. This includes generating statistics reports, automating critical path traces, and performing health checks that streamline both scheduling and EVMS functions.
• Data Integration & Reporting Automation:
Drive the integration of cost and schedule data by automating processes that convert and reconcile information. This ensures timely and accurate reporting while reducing manual data handling.
