The Health IT Applications Support Technician provides technical support for Health Services Division (HSD) applications and systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms such as RPMS and Next Gen. Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting health IT infrastructure, assisting with software applications, supporting database models, and ensuring compliance with healthcare data security standards.
Responsibilities- Electronic Health Record systems (RPMS, Next Gen) and healthcare IT workflows.
- Computer hardware configuration and components.
- Network connectivity and troubleshooting in clinical environments.
- Relational database theory and health data management.
- HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security best practices.
- MS Office Suite and healthcare-related software applications.
- Yaqui culture, customs, resources, and traditions and/or willingness to learn.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot EHR systems and health IT applications.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues impacting patient care systems.
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical healthcare staff.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for compliance and audits.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and meet deadlines in a healthcare setting.
- Operate office and health IT equipment effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.
Associate of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems or Health Information Technology, or certificate from an accredited technical computer school with one (1) year experience in IT support in a healthcare setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with EHR systems such as RPMS and Next Gen is required.
- A+ Certification preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination from this position.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
