Job Overview
We are hiring for a Systems Administrator to join our Digital Technology (DT) team in Tucson, AZ. The DT organization ensures Raytheon teammates across the globe can communicate, collaborate, and innovate. The Systems Administrator will provide IT systems administration support in a heterogeneous Windows and Linux environment, maintaining system security and supporting tools and data storage.
Responsibilities- Provide IT systems administration support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Work with core services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and basic server roles.
- Use established troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to complex technical issues involving operating systems, hardware integration, and enterprise services.
- Support data storage and backup operations, including RAID concepts and backup/restore technologies.
- Install, configure, and support software applications requested by end users.
- Partner with Cybersecurity teams to maintain system security requirements, follow established processes, and assist with documentation and training for IT procedures.
- Participate in occasional work outside standard business hours; systems operate 24x7.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience working with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Experience with core services (Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, MECM, Exchange, system/network administration, Windows or Linux server support, enterprise backup/recovery tools).
- Must obtain DoD 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start.
- DoD 8140 / 8570 certification including OS‑specific certifications.
- Experience supporting compliance activities such as NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or DoD/RMF.
- Experience with Windows Server administration.
- Experience with data storage technologies (NAS, SAN).
- Experience with in an IT project lifecycle or structured process environment.
- Experience with VMware products (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi) or other virtualization platforms.
- Experience supporting engineering teams working on software, simulation or hardware development.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, Skype, SharePoint, Exchange.
- Experience with HPC environments.
- Scripting experience (Power Shell, Bash or similar).
