Position Overview

Data Center/IT Facilities Technician – Senior Analyst Information & Workplace Services (P2). Onsite role located in Tucson, AZ with RTX.

US-AZ-TUCSON-918 ~ 1151 E Hermans Rd ~ DATA CTR 918.

Security Clearance

Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate inter‑team communication and maintain clear documentation of Data Center details to support smooth project growth.
  • Serve as the primary Digital Technology point of contact for all Facilities related issues within and affecting the Data Center.
  • Provide input to the Data Center metrics for the Monthly Operation Review and annual Digital Technology Facilities capital budget.
  • Review Data Center environmental monitoring strategy with Facilities, including:
    • Off‑hour emergency response
    • Power outage support
    • Temperature monitoring
    • Under‑floor water and fire detection
  • Meet weekly or as needed with management to update Data Center schedules, issues, and outages.
  • Lead standard processes for the Data Center, including:
    • Data Center naming conventions
    • Access control
    • Server inventory
    • Change control for Data Center related activities
    • Disaster plans and policies, including escalation processes
  • Provide escorting for planned and unplanned Facilities events/projects.
  • Maintain smooth operation of Data Center services, planning, evaluating, coordinating, and performing installation or reconfiguration of Data Center racks.
  • Maintain Data Center management software platform.
  • Prepare or ensure existence of appropriate Data Center documentation, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documents; create new documentation when necessary.
  • Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short‑ and long‑range planning for in‑house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third‑party maintenance for Data Center equipment or vendor support.
  • Work with program engineers to resolve Data Center problems in tactical environments.
  • Mentor, train, and share knowledge to support overall performance and capability of the technical team.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Work under general supervision and follow established procedures.
  • Obtain Security+ and Network+ certifications within six months if not already held.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience managing Data Centers, including Digital Technology infrastructure, networking, and facilities infrastructure.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Experience with access control lists, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing and ICD‑705 and NISPOM Chapter 8.
