The Senior Health IT System Administrator applies advanced expertise in healthcare information technology to maintain and optimize critical infrastructure supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as RPMS and Next Gen. This role ensures secure, reliable access to health data through robust server management, virtualization, storage, and cybersecurity practices. The position leads health IT infrastructure projects, ensures compliance with HIPAA and tribal health policies, and serves as a technical resource for clinical and administrative teams.
Responsibilities- Healthcare IT infrastructure and EHR systems (RPMS, Next Gen).
- Enterprise virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper‑V).
- Microsoft Server OS and hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Microsoft 365 services for healthcare collaboration.
- Storage systems (Pure Storage, EMC/Dell Storage) and health data management.
- HIPAA compliance, health data security, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Disaster recovery and health data backup procedures.
- Project management principles for health IT initiatives.
- Lead health IT projects and manage timelines effectively.
- Troubleshoot complex issues impacting EHR systems and clinical workflows.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to healthcare staff and non‑technical audiences.
- Develop health IT documentation and training materials.
- Collaborate across departments to support patient care technology.
- Handle multiple priorities in a healthcare environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related field plus five (5) years of health IT experience; OR ten (10) years of equivalent work‑related experience.
- Experience with EHR systems such as RPMS and Next Gen is required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix) preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination from this position.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
