Job Summary

Department:
Finance & Risk Management. The Financial Systems Analyst III – Finance is a classified position with job classification 5270 and salary grade 15. The hiring pay range is $72,009–$86,403 annually, with an overall salary range of $72,009–$100,817. The role is open until filled, located in Tucson, AZ, and requires in‑office work; remote work is not permitted. The department does not sponsor visas.

This position is a functional support role within the Financial Transactions Division, responsible for maintaining and supporting the county’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on a team of 3–5 functional system administrators to support the county’s ERP systems.
  • Maintain user security access, complete system configuration changes, and manage approval workflows.
  • Reconcile and balance financial data across multiple systems, ensuring data accuracy for reporting.
  • Extract system data using existing and custom reports.
  • Troubleshoot ERP‑related issues in collaboration with IT business analysts and department personnel.
  • Enhance system functionality through configuration, upgrades, and testing of proposed changes.
  • Analyze and validate data integrity, recommend improvements, and generate accurate reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and optimize performance.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new financial tools or software systems.
  • Develop and deliver training for end users on system functionality and best practices.
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting to senior leadership on system performance and data accuracy.
  • Identify and address process inefficiencies to support continuous improvement and automation opportunities.

Essential Functions
  • Process user security access requests and approval workflows.

  • Support evaluation and implementation of new financial tools and software.
  • Coordinate and manage system updates with stakeholder communication.
  • Provide detailed analysis/reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify and correct process inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of professional‑level experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, financial analysis, or financial management.
  • A master’s degree or CPA designation may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Relevant education or experience may be substituted if clearly documented in the application sections of Education and Work Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing ERP system or software support to end‑users.
  • Experience as a subject‑matter expert in one or more system or application areas.
  • Experience testing system fixes, enhancements, or participating in system upgrades or implementations.
  • Experience reconciling multiple systems, including data mining and analysis.
  • Experience managing user access, approval workflows, or configuration changes.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in MIS, finance, accounting, or business analytics.
