Network Engineer Principal Specialist (P3) –Raytheon Digital Technology Classified Infrastructure Services –Tucson, AZ

Onsite –U.S. Secret Security Clearance required prior to start date. This role is located at our Tucson, AZ facilities and will work in classified computing areas. Relocation support is available per company policy.

What you will do
  • Focus on inter‑team communication and organization of clear documentation of network details to support and enable smooth project growth.
  • Install, maintain, support, and monitor classified network infrastructure.
  • Plan, evaluate, coordinate, and perform installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
  • Maintain network management software platforms.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure communications requirements are met, configuring solutions for cost savings, redundancy, and required uptime.
  • Prepare or ensure appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Create new documentation where none exists.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis for short‑ and long‑range planning of in‑house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third‑party maintenance for network equipment or vendors for third‑party support.
  • Design network solutions including selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical limitations.
  • Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
  • Mentor, train, and share knowledge to improve the overall performance and capability of the technical team.
  • Work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
  • Follow established procedures under general supervision.
What you will learn
  • Apply your Network Engineering skills to defense‑oriented programs.
  • Obtain Security+ certification within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year (highly desired).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
  • Active, in‑scope, transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret Security Clearance required prior to start date.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, 802.1X, Solar Winds, and setting up client‑server environments for government networks.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
  • Experience with access control lists, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
  • 1–2 years of experience with network management software.
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communication.
  • Experience with IP telephony, NTP servers, Gem One, and Solar Winds.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
  • Security+ certification within 6 months.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
  • Relocation support if qualified per company policy.
