Principal System Administrator – Tucson, AZThis full‑time, onsite role supports mission‑critical classified programs, ensuring secure, reliable IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments.
Responsibilities- Provide IT system administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Lead and coordinate Red Hat installations and configurations.
- Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain hardware and software for Linux/Windows classified infrastructure.
- Manage servers (software & hardware), storage (logical & physical), cross‑platform authentication, access, data backup, restoration, software licensing, and workstation support.
- Administer Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, replication).
- Apply troubleshooting techniques for moderate‑to‑high scope problems, including hardware and OS integration.
- Work with cybersecurity professionals to meet security requirements, provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes.
- Provide 24/7 system operations support and occasional after‑hours work.
- Travel up to 5% when required.
- Bachelor’s degree and ≥5years relevant experience, or master’s degree and ≥3years relevant experience.
- Linux or Windows experience.
- Experience with Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, or networking administration.
- Current or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- DoD Directive 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- DoD Directive 8140/8570 certification plus an Operating System certification.
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or DoD/RMF.
- Deep Windows Server expertise.
- Experience with NAS/SAN storage and data backup technologies.
- Project lifecycle management skills.
- VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, or other virtualization.
- Support for software, simulations, and hardware development.
- Experience with WSUS, SMECP, Microsoft Exchange.
- High‑Performance Computing (HPC) in Linux.
- Script development.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
