The University of Arizona Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (PAE) is seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role supports daily cloud operations, assisting with system maintenance, user management, monitoring, and service delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft technologies, possess excellent troubleshooting skills, and demonstrate a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.

This position may require working occasionally in the early morning, late evening, and/or weekend hours to minimize service disruptions to our customers during the PAE’s regular business hours.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration of Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Perform user lifecycle management, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and access control.
  • Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Support endpoint and device management using Intune or similar tools.
  • Assist with patching, updates, and routine system maintenance.
  • Support backup and restore operations and verify recovery processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Manage and troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices, including deployment and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot email and collaboration issues, including mail flow, routing, transport rules, delivery failures, spam filtering, allow/block lists, shared mailboxes, and distribution groups.
  • Support email authentication and domain protection configuration, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and related DNS records (MX, TXT, CNAME).
  • Coordinate DNS updates with internal teams, vendors, and service providers for cloud services, SaaS platforms, and security requirements.
  • Assist with identity and access integrations, including SSO and provisioning using SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, and MFA.

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency or ability to learn additional software required to perform the essential duties of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of on-prem and cloud systems administration experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on cloud administration (Azure preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and identity platforms.
  • Understanding networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with IT Service Management practices (Ticketing, incident/change management).
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and ability to work on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Power Shell or scripting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Intune and Endpoint Management.
