** About the Role
** Our Corporate IT team is responsible for the stability, security, and scalability of the technology infrastructure supporting SS&C's global corporate offices. We’re looking for a skilled VMware/ Open Shift Administrator to manage and optimize our container orchestration platform. As a VMware/ Open Shift Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Open Shift clusters while ensuring smooth operation and high availability of our applications.

You will collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance our infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery workflows.

** How You Will Make an Impact
*** Install, configure, and maintain Open Shift clusters on-premises.
* Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
* Manage user access and permissions within the Open Shift environment.
* Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
* Work with development teams to optimize applications running on Open Shift.
* Create and maintain documentation related to Open Shift configurations and procedures.
* Stay updated with the latest Open Shift and Kubernetes features and best practices.
* Collaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications.
* Conversions from VMware to Open Shift
* Ability to Manage a VMware environment
** Required Experience
*** Hands-on experience with Open Shift Virtualization (Kube Virt), including running and managing VM workloads on Kubernetes (not limited to container orchestration)
* Strong experience with VMware (vSphere/ESXi) in hybrid environments
* Proven production experience with VM migration tooling (e.g., MTV or virt-v2v)
* Experience deploying and operating Open Shift Virtualization on bare metal
* Production use of Git Ops (Argo CD or Flux) for cluster and VM manifest management
* Experience with observability stacks:
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Splunk
* Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure/platform delivery
* Strong understanding of networking and storage in containerized and virtualized environments
* Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills
** What Sets You Apart** *(preferred qualifications)
** Red Hat certification: EX316 (Open Shift Virtualization) or EX280 (Open Shift Administration)
* VMware certification: VCP-DCV or VCAP
* Experience with VMware → Open Shift Virtualization (Kube Virt) migration or modernization initiatives
