Position Highlights: The Senior Digital Access Professional supports the Disability Resource Center (DRC) in the creation and delivery of accessible content and media to ensure access to all university constituents. The professional oversees the daily operations of alternative digital formats and media access, including, but not limited to, e-text, Braille, audio description, and captioning. The Senior Digital Access Professional responds to a variety of accommodation services inquiries from students, faculty, and staff concerning accessible content and provides technical and instructional support and guidance as needed.

This position delivers offers high-quality customer service in an often fast-paced, dynamic environment and works as part of a team to ensure access.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates as part of a team to coordinate the production of alternative formats and media services.
  • Serves as a primary contact in alternative formats and media access services, including, but not limited to, e-text, Braille, audio description, and captioning, for all student and staff requests.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues related to accessing content, using the University's course accessibility tool, or provide Assistive (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). detailed information in departmental database to track requests, prioritize, and schedule production for services and communication regarding the status of accommodation requests to students, instructors, and DRC staff.
  • Coordinates with DRC staff regarding instructor and faculty communications, including pre-semester planning and outreach.
  • Participates in the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of student staff.
  • Monitors department emails; delegates, prioritizes, and responds as appropriate.
  • Engages as part of a team in the development, evaluation, quality control, and revision of processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of content.
  • Grants access, as appropriate, to University technologies and systems necessary to support evaluating and creating accessible content.
  • Reviews invoices from external agencies, verifies accuracy, and processes payment.
  • Works strategically to incorporate, promote, and increase awareness regarding universal access and inclusive design across campus digital environments.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to create information, trainings, and workshops related to accessible content, design, and the University's course accessibility tool.
  • Supports, as part of a team, accessibility for campus events and physical access needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective phone, chat, and email etiquette.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn new media systems and respond quickly to constantly changing technology.
  • Strong customer service philosophy, including the flexibility to exercise good judgment within established guidelines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of disability and reasonable accommodations in higher education.
  • Proficiency in Accessibility Information Management (AIM) database.
