Part-Time Billing Coordinator

Mulembo Law PLLC is a growing criminal and family law firm seeking a Part-Time Billing Coordinator to support accurate invoicing, trust-related billing processes, and collections coordination as the firm continues to expand.

This is a focused billing role designed to support firm operations and ensure consistency in billing workflows.

• 15 hours/week (fixed billing windows preferred)
• $25–$32/hour

• Spanish-speaking differential: +$2–$3/hour for candidates who can independently handle billing-related client communications in Spanish

• Prepare draft invoices in Smoke Ball
• Review invoices for accuracy and fee agreement compliance
• Prepare trust-related billing summaries for review
• Sync approved invoices with Coll Box
• Monitor accounts receivable and invoice aging
• Provide brief weekly billing and A/R updates
• Handle billing-related client communications (Spanish, if applicable)

• Legal drafting or court filings
• Calendaring or litigation support
• Legal advice or case strategy
• Client intake or sales
• Independent trust account management
• Prior law firm billing experience
• Familiarity with Smoke Ball (strongly preferred) or similar legal billing software
• Basic understanding of trust accounting
• Strong attention to detail and comfort following SOPs
• Spanish fluency for billing and payment logistics
• Experience with automated collections tools (e.g., Coll Box)
• Criminal or family law billing experience
• 30-day trial period
• Weekly check-ins with legal operations
• Clear SOPs and defined workflows
