Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Procurement Superintendent manages suppliers of goods and services, safeguards compliance with agreements, and ensures adherence to Hudbay’s policies.

• Procure goods and services.
• Perform commercial and technical evaluations of competing proposals.
• Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous performance improvement via key metrics (e.g., SHE, schedule, cost).
• Oversee all aspects of pre‑qualification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening, and assessment of tenders and award of orders.
• Ensure commercial correspondence with vendors is efficiently handled.
• Liaise with end‑users and internal clients to ensure commitments and milestones are achieved and coordinate with suppliers to mitigate liquidated damages.
• Escalate complex functional or technical issues promptly to the Procurement Manager or Project Manager when applicable.
• Consult legal counsel or management for procurement liabilities clarification when necessary.
• Provide coaching, support, and guidance to team members to ensure delivery of results.
• Perform routine office duties that involve frequent sitting, walking, standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
• Use eye, hand, and finger coordination to operate office machinery; oral and auditory communication required.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Preferred experience in a similar role within engineering, mining, or construction industries.
• Experience in capital procurement.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace.
