The United States Border Patrol (USBP) is the mobile, uniformed law enforcement arm of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responsible for securing U.S. borders between ports of entry. The Southwest Field Office requires highly qualified subject matter experts to provide essential support for logistics, asset management, property management, and warehouse operations. Their collective expertise and contributions are vital to the SWFO's responsibilities.
The candidates are responsible for maintaining the necessary technical, supervisory, and administrative personnel in accordance with the delivery schedule and providing logistics and warehouse support services, including warehouse logistics operations, property management, asset management, deployment and sustainment, solutions engineering support, and tower climbing. The scope of these services will vary depending on the complexity of the project.
- Tower Climbing Support:
- Perform tower climbing inspections in accordance with the Tower Industry Association (TIA) 222‑G standards.
- Be well‑versed in video surveillance tower installations to validate work performed by outside vendors at height.
- Logistics and Warehouse Operations:
- Manage an extensive and multifaceted array of warehouse logistics operations, including receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate shipments, monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, and adhere to all applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
- Set up and tear down designated events, ensuring all logistical and operational requirements are met for seamless event execution.
- Perform minor facility enhancements and improvements to maintain the Technology Support Warehouse environment.
- Conduct inspections to ensure proper completion of facility work orders, verifying maintenance, repair, and enhancement tasks meet established standards.
- Assist with inventorying incoming and outgoing program‑specific equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
- Support inventorying of equipment designated for disposition, maintaining detailed records.
- Ensure completion of monthly Health and Safety Inspection Sheets, reviewing and documenting all safety checks and compliance measures.
- Update the UTOC Health and Safety Teams page to maintain accurate and current records for all team members.
- Fleet Management – Oversee daily fleet operations, including fuel and maintenance invoice processing in SAP, maintain fleet folders, ensure vehicle readiness through inspections, cleanliness and fueling, prepare vehicles for disposition, identify equipment and supply needs, coordinate repairs, and transport government vehicles for maintenance and deployment.
- Transport government‑owned vehicles from various sectors/locations upon arrival of new Program assets and new fleet, and ensure timely transportation of deployment vehicles to designated outlying areas.
- Property Management Support:
- Assume and execute full range of responsibilities of a Local Property Officer (LPO) within the SAP system.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and policies governing property management, maintain accurate records, and oversee proper handling and accountability of assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and technical support to personnel, monitor property‑related activities, and implement procedures to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the property management process.
- Asset Management Support:
- Provide comprehensive asset management support services, encompassing accountability across all phases of the asset lifecycle, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposition.
- Oversee receipt of package deliveries and perform detailed inspections to confirm completeness of delivered items.
- Deployment and Sustainment Support:
- Oversee and manage deployment and sustainment activities in accordance with established requirements, industry standards, and programmatic objectives.
