Material Program Manager (MPM)

Location:

Tucson, AZ.

Security clearance:
Active U.S. government‑issued Secret clearance required prior to start date.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee the performance of domestic suppliers, ensuring quality, affordability, and timely delivery of hardware and/or services.
  • Develop and execute material strategies that align with program needs and requirements.
  • Drive robust material cost, quality, and schedule negotiations across the supplier base.
  • Collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams, guiding Engineering to support timely material procurement.
  • Provide accurate forecasting of material costs and manage related financial metrics.
  • Monitor and proactively address performance and financial metrics, including cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS.
  • Own the supplier management process, including supplier performance, SCM metrics, Make/Buy/Where strategies, strategic agreements, and compliance with customer flow‑through requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, public law).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supply chain‑relevant role such as procurement, MRP, cost estimating, or finance.
  • Experience with supplier management and/or subcontract management.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (special program access or equivalent manufacturing programs).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with material sales forecasting.
  • Experience with multiple DoD/DoW contract types (e.g., Cost Type, Firm Fixed Price).
  • Experience with government acquisition regulations and laws, including FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and TINA.
  • Experience working with missile system elements such as Circuit Card Assemblies, Printed Wiring Boards, electrical components, harnessing, or energetics like rocket motors and warheads.
  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships in a matrixed organization.
