Overview

Raytheon is seeking a Material Program Manager (MPM) within the Raytheon SMGBAD Product Line execution team in Tucson, AZ. This role requires basic knowledge of the material requirements planning (MRP) process and practical knowledge of project and material management. In this role you will learn and further develop your knowledge of manufacturing, material requirements planning and business acumen within a matrixed organization.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively across multiple areas outside of their own job function as well as with parties external to the organization and company. You will also have the opportunity to lead projects, budgeting and financial management, issue and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with IPT leadership on material strategy execution.
  • Communicate and translate customer and product requirements to suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk.
  • Review SCM metrics.
  • Support recurring supplier, program, and IPT reviews, including visibility of procurement plans and escalation of supply chain issues.
  • Develop and execute Risk & Opportunity (R&O) and Sales plans to meet Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and program responsibilities; proactively manage mitigation plans.
  • Manage budgets for all buy parts and supply chain labor in support of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process.
  • Support prime proposals and program start‑up including developing and executing Material Product Strategies (MPS) and Plans (MPP).
  • Obtain MPM certification within one year of hire.
Qualifications
  • A university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience working with MRP systems such as SAP, PRISM, and/or KINAXIS.
  • Experience with budget and earned value (EV) management, risk and opportunity (R&O) management, annual operating plan (AOP), and/or proposals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to work in an IPT environment.
  • Self‑starter with the capability to achieve organizational and program objectives and to interface with all levels of internal management as well as supplier management.
  • Ability to succeed in a high‑stress, fast‑paced development environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Active Secret or Top‑Secret clearance.
  • Last full background investigation within the past 6 years.
What We Offer

The role is onsite at a Tucson, AZ location. Relocation assistance is not available. The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD, which is a good‑faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Specific benefits are dependent on the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and coverage by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
