The Client Transporter works under the Director of Admissions and coordinates closely with the Admissions and Nursing departments to transport current and potential clients safely and on schedule. This role ensures all transports follow ARC policies, safety protocols, and state traffic laws while supporting client wellness and maintaining professionalism at all times.
KEY RESPONLITIES- Transport clients to and from appointments according to assigned schedules and timelines.
- Assist clients safely entering and exiting vehicles and maintain professional, supportive interactions.
- Coordinate with nursing staff when clinical accompaniment is required.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections and complete required logs, documentation, and checklists.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, report mechanical issues immediately, and ensure all emergency equipment is functional.
- Follow all ARC policies on vehicle use, client supervision, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and safety.
- Use only ARC vehicles which are provided to complete daily tasks and only to be used during approved scheduled hours—no personal vehicles permitted.
- Obey all traffic laws; disclose any citations or incidents to the supervisor and HR immediately.
- Document and report on any client’s behavioral concerns, emergencies, delays, or changes in transport needs.
- Maintain timely communication with supervisors and update transport threads (never while driving).
- Represent ARC professionally in all public settings.
- No smoking, vaping, substances, or explicit music in vehicles.
- No leaving clients unattended.
- Seatbelts mandatory at all times; clients sit in the front seat only with clinical approval.
- Cell phones may only be used hands-free; texting requires pulling over.
- Must follow routing/GPS instructions, pick-up/drop-off protocols, and proper hand-off of clients.
- Submit all transport documents, logs, and trackers before end of shift.
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and professional appearance (ARC attire and badge required).
- Must arrive on time, be flexible with scheduling, and avoid repeated tardiness or call-offs.
- ARC may conduct drug testing at any time; transporting under any impairment is grounds for termination.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Provide a valid Driver’s License
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in related field preferred
- CPR/FA Certification – to be obtained within first 30 days
- Fingerprint Clearance Card – to have a current card, or to show application submitted within the first 7 days from date of hire
- Handle with Care – to be obtained within first 30 days
- Successful clearance of clean MVR record (3 year)
- Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background check
- Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Successful clearance of TB PPD testing upon hire and annual screening of TB symptoms
- Attending clinical oversight with BHP once every 2 weeks worked for a minimum of 2 sessions per month.
