SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Material Support Technician (Swing Shift) to support an opportunity at Davis Monthan AFB.
Position Overview SectionThe Material Support Technician will perform depot material-control and supply functions as a Production Support Technician (PST). Responsibilities include identifying and resolving parts-supportability issues, researching component availability, initiating purchase requests, maintaining appropriate stock levels, processing material transactions, and supporting hazardous-material management.
The position requires strong knowledge of supply and logistics processes, attention to detail, research and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with maintenance production personnel.
Essential Job Functions Depot Material Control and Production Support- Perform depot material-control and supply functions in support of maintenance production shops.
- Coordinate material-support activities with Production Support personnel and supported maintenance organizations.
- Research, analyze, and perform corrective and preventive actions related to parts supportability and availability using Government-provided data.
- Research customer component parts and determine availability through authorized supply channels.
- Initiate purchase requests for parts and materials required by supported production shops in accordance with applicable Air Force instructions, supplements, and Government regulations.
- Authorize, order, receive, issue, and perform customer front-end Job Order Number (JON) edits for requirements submitted by supported maintenance shops.
- Maintain appropriate on-hand inventory levels to support production requirements.
- Ensure JONs are properly charged for material issued.
- File and maintain material transaction receipts and supporting documentation.
- Monitor applicable Government Management Information Systems (MIS) to review, analyze, and resolve unplanned material orders and other material-support requirements.
- Coordinate material requirements with Production Support personnel to reduce excess serviceable and unserviceable material and facilitate appropriate turn-in actions.
- Review, validate, and update back-order status.
- Communicate changes in material availability and update expected delivery dates.
- Retrieve and deliver material to the appropriate maintenance organizations or authorized entities.
- Perform turn-in transactions for Integrated Prime Vendor (IPV) bench stock.
- Perform turn-in operations and documentation for Due-In for Maintenance (DIFM) items.
- Support Facilitate Other Maintenance (FOM) programs.
- Perform Demand History Adjustments (DHA) as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and material demand to ensure production requirements are adequately supported.
- Perform maintenance material operations involving hazardous materials using the Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) or current authorized hazardous-material tracking system.
- Authorize, order, receive, issue, and account for hazardous materials in accordance with applicable Air Force environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements.
- Maintain accurate hazardous-material inventory and transaction records.
- Build management reports identifying:
- Reorder requirements
- Shelf-life information
- Inventory levels
- Back-order status
- Ensure hazardous materials are properly stored in accordance with applicable guidance.
- Comply with area-specific controls and procedures established by local environmental management organizations.
- Ensure hazardous-material lockers and storage areas remain compliant with applicable requirements.
