Job Summary

As a Resident District Manager (RDM) you will manage a large multi‑unit dining account, serving as the point of contact for the client and leading the team within the account. You will provide planning and direction to achieve operational and financial goals, maintain strong client relationships, and fulfill our mission to feed kids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team at a large account, providing top‑notch service to the client, students, and community.
  • Drive and develop the team toward building strong client relationships and achieving key performance indicators such as profitability, safety, and employee engagement.
  • Participate in the district leadership team, sharing best practices, mitigating risks, championing diversity, and building community.
  • Make risk‑aware decisions with short‑ and long‑term implications, gathering input from the team and partners.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, education, safety, and accountability.
  • Represent the Chartwells team within the district and community; attend key client and community events.
  • Ensure client needs are met or exceeded, retain the account, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and assist in the rebid process.
  • Support functional areas of operation, including safety, marketing, nutrition, and culinary.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and company policies; conduct unit audits for key areas like food storage and sanitation.
  • Maintain USDA regulatory compliance for all applicable meal and retail programs, completing required reporting on time.
  • Champion development within the account; conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and understand all roles.
  • Own the financial results for the account, working with leadership on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting accuracy.
  • Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of management experience, preferably in food service, hospitality management, nutrition, or culinary.
  • Well‑versed in all aspects of food service management with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking, ownership, strong communication skills, multitasking, prioritization, and organization.
  • Champion of an inclusive mindset, proactive, positive, professional, and resilient.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and POS software.

Occasional travel required in this position.
