HDR has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced water industry professional to serve as our Water Business Group Manager (BGM) for Arizona and New Mexico.In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the growth and evolution of HDR’s strong water practice across the region—helping communities solve critical water challenges while shaping the future of our business.
As part of a world-class organization, you’ll collaborate with exceptional technical and business leaders to drive strategic growth, expand our market presence, and strengthen client partnerships. This is a unique opportunity to take a well-established, high‑performing team to the next level, advancing innovative water solutions across the Southwest.
What You’ll DoAs the AZ/NM Area Water Business Group Manager, you will:
- Be the face of HDR’s water practice in Arizona and New Mexico, strengthening our presence and reputation in the regional water industry.
- Lead strategic growth initiatives as part of the Southwest Regional leadership team, identifying new opportunities and expanding our impact across the area.
- Guide the direction and performance of the water business group by developing and implementing effective programs that support growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Partner with our Water Business Development Leader to identify new markets, pursue key opportunities, and advance technical services, delivery methods, and quality standards aligned with HDR’s strategic goals.
- Drive business performance by preparing annual revenue forecasts and budgets, monitoring results, and leading implementation of the group’s strategic plan.
- Foster collaboration across teams and offices, promoting strong communication and work-sharing that maximizes client satisfaction, growth, and profitability.
- Build and empower a high-performing team through recruitment, mentoring, staff development, and training.
- Cultivate trusted client relationships, supporting key pursuits and occasionally serving as a strategic client manager.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, delivery, and business results.
- Champion HDR’s standards and values, ensuring strong implementation of company policies, quality assurance, and risk management practices.
- Contribute to HDR’s broader vision and strategy, participating in regional and company-wide planning initiatives.
- Support project excellence by facilitating project management and quality reviews alongside regional and national discipline leaders.
- Represent HDR in the industry and community, strengthening our partnerships and reputation.
- Perform other leadership responsibilities as needed.
