This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years experience in processing and cataloging archival collections; or BA/BS degree in Archives, Library or Information Science with at least 10 years experience in library, archives or federal records management.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience with identifying and completing storage upgrade requirements for archival preservation of photographs, maps, drawings and textual records.
- Familiarity with descriptive metadata.
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Support the Western Archaeological and Conservation Center in improving accountability and discoverability of library collections by appraising incoming collections, cataloguing to describe their content and creating tools that facilitate public access.
- Complete final processing and arrangement of approximately 100 linear feet of Mesa Verde cultural resource documentation into appropriate series, sub-series and/or file units per the existing processing plan (30%).
- Complete file level descriptive cataloguing of 100 linear feet of Mesa Verde cultural resource documentation (30%).
- Prepare an estimated 100 linear feet of Mesa Verde cultural resource documentation for long‑term storage (20%).
- Develop/update finding aids for an estimated 100 linear feet of Mesa Verde cultural resource documentation and prepare the final project report (20%).
- Other responsibilities as required.
