Overview
An employee-owned company in the construction sector is seeking a highly skilled Fabricator III to join its production team. This role represents an advanced fabrication position responsible for executing complex steel assemblies, interpreting detailed drawings and erection plans, and setting the standard for quality, safety, and productivity within the shop.
The Fabricator III plays a key leadership role on the shop floor, mentoring others and ensuring fabrication work consistently meets or exceeds company, industry, and project standards.
The RoleThe Fabricator III is responsible for independently fabricating complex structural and miscellaneous steel assemblies using advanced shop drawings, erection plans, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Success in this role requires mastery of welding techniques, deep knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to lead by example through mentorship, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all duties of Fabricator II
- Interpret complex shop drawings and erection plans
- Plan and execute complex layouts and assemblies with minimal supervision
- Weld assemblies in accordance with shop drawings, WPS, AWS D1.1, and company fabrication procedures
- Pass and maintain 3G & 4G welder qualifications
- Ensure fabrication work meets or exceeds quality standards prior to QC approval
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical instruction to less experienced fabricators
- Set a strong example in safety, quality, work ethic, and productivity
- Work independently when required while maintaining accountability
- Use time efficiently to meet or exceed production schedules
- Support QC inspections and resolve fabrication issues as needed
- Maintain housekeeping standards and assist with shop operations
- Follow the company code of ethics and employee handbook at all times
- Perform all other duties as assigned

- Certified welder with 3G & 4G qualifications

- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Proven ability to work independently and manage complex fabrication tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to exceeding quality standards
- Experience working in an employee-owned (ESOP) environment
