About the Role:

A well-established contract manufacturer based in Tucson is seeking career-minded, disciplined, and dedicated individuals to join our growing team. We value integrity, strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence, and we are currently hiring Kit & Materials Coordinator ranging from entry-level to skilled.

The Kit & Materials Coordinator is responsible for the accurate preparation, control, and tracking of materials and production kits in support of manufacturing, assembly, and program execution activities. This role ensures materials are received, stored, issued, and documented in compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable federal regulations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in inventory control within a regulated or defense-related environment.

Duties
  • Prepare, assemble, and verify production kits in accordance with engineering documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), and work orders.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials, ensuring compliance with quality and traceability standards.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory audits.
  • Identify shortages, discrepancies, and non-conforming materials; coordinate resolution with Procurement, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of sensitive, controlled, or classified materials in accordance with company and DoD regulations.
  • Conduct visual inspections on incoming materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and all parts are accounted for according to the packing slip.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and material flow efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of the kitting process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure stockroom environment.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable Transportation a must.
  • 2+ years of experience in materials coordination, inventory control, logistics, or warehouse operations is preferred (defense or aerospace environment preferred).
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), purchase orders, and material traceability.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow detailed procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and wiring schematics are preferred.
  • Familiar using a tape measurer, caliper, and/or ruler is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and self-accountability.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A commitment to safety standards in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to climb ladder to reach inventory and overstock on the mezzanine.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, DFARS, or other federal compliance requirements are preferred.
