Job Summary

The maintenance technician is part of a team that focuses on maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, operating equipment, performing PM tasks, and cleaning equipment. The role involves repairing and adjusting production equipment to maintain quality specifications, achieving production rates equal to or greater than established standards, performing changeovers and line clearances, troubleshooting equipment, and providing technical support to crew lead and colleagues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Set-up and operate machines to manufacture product which conforms to quality specifications at the rated output.
  • Continually monitor operations for product quality and equipment performance.
  • Notify Quality Representative and crew leader/supervisor of quality problems.
  • Repair, adjust and troubleshoot machinery, including dismantling, replacement of parts and reassembling, seeking assistance as necessary from engineers, controls group, tool room, etc.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products produced in the department, raw materials required, and product quality specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (PPH, OEE, scrap/waste, SAP, MES transactions, etc.).
  • Notify crew lead/supervisor of equipment or operator issues and help develop corrective strategy.
  • Handle projects of moderate scope, coordinating between vendors and plant manufacturing functions.
  • Perform PM tasks assigned by crew lead, collaborating with process technicians and scheduling additional repairs during PM time.
  • Determine critical machine repair components and maintain inventory in spare parts room.
  • Propose process improvements to enhance cost, efficiency, quality, and productivity while maintaining change control.
  • Familiarize with all relevant controlled documents (Work Instructions, Forms, etc.), preventive maintenance task lists, and equipment manuals pertaining to operation of line equipment.
  • Support business needs by working overtime as necessary to meet schedule requirements.
  • Assist technical staff on machine modifications, testing, and equipment validations.
  • Ensure efficient shift transfer through effective communication.
  • Participate fully to achieve department safety goals and debrief accidents to eliminate root cause.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; internal transfers exempted.
  • Vocational/Technical School curriculum:
    Mechanical.
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment operation and maintenance.
  • 3 years manufacturing/industrial/mechanical experience.
  • Forklift certification desired.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams.

  • Troubleshooting and repair, equipment calibration knowledge.

  • Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations.
  • Works independently with minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.

Workplace Requirements

We prioritize on-site collaboration. For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days in-office per week to maintain our culture of excellence.
