Position: Shipper/Receiver II (SHIPP006428)

Position Summary

This position supports the organization by shipping and receiving product accurately and to defined specifications, meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations. The primary functions are to unload and receive incoming materials, as well as packaging and shipping product to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
  • Read and understand packing, marking and shipping instructions.
  • Use shipping systems and customer portals to process shipments.
  • Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment.
  • Assist in preparing bills of lading and other required forms.
  • Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
  • Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record keeping.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of shipping and assembly area, including trash disposal.
  • Assist in arranging carrier for shipments.
  • Assist in preparing overseas/international shipments.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or related field.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
  • Strong organization skills, self-starter with initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of shipping/receiving software and online portals. Intermediate or advanced knowledge a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to bend and lift 40 lbs.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Experience in government packaging regulations a plus.
  • Must be flexible with overtime and weekends, as necessary.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status. Non-US Citizens may be restricted from certain programs.
