Job Overview
This position is a fabrication, assembly, and maintenance role for hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum, and gas systems on test equipment. The role requires a weekend shift on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00AM to 6:30PM with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch. Starting pay rate is $34.38 per hour.
Responsibilities- Fabricate, assemble, install, diagnose, repair, and modify hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum, and gas systems.
- Perform functional and operational tests on new and repaired units and document results.
- Coordinate with engineers to plan, lay out, and make mechanical modifications to test positions and units.
- Create supplementary sketches or diagrams to support mechanical modifications.
- Prepare written reports of all tests and recommend refinements to equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance as directed.
- Carry out brazing, soft and silver soldering, and minor sheet‑metal work.
- Use hand tools (micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, height gauges) and operate portable power tools and machine tools (lathes, milling machines, pedestal grinders, drill presses, band saws, belt sanders).
- Interpret primary design drawings, prints, schematic flow diagrams, sketches, or verbal instructions to develop practical procedures.
- Execute related computer and clerical functions such as operating the shop floor control system, documenting maintenance records, and requesting supplies.
- Rework, refurbish, and modify parts and equipment as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in layout, fabrication, assembly, checking, and testing of hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic, and refrigeration mechanical/electromechanical equipment.
- Machine shop skills including setting up and operating conventional lathes, mills, drills, and pedestal grinders.
- Experience working from blueprints, primary design drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Ability to visualize and determine the most practical fabrication of equipment and materials.
- Successful completion of a qualifying or practical test.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance prior to the start date.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an ATF clearance.
- Must be able to work any designated shift, including overnight.
