-Make a Mark-We Blaze Our Own Trail-Brand First-We Mean Business Summary The Packaging Lead packages and prepares all packaging products for distribution by performing all duties meticulously and assisting with the daily workflow. The Packaging Lead supports packaging team members when a Supervisor is not present. They are also responsible for training and coaching packaging team members in collaboration with Supervisors and Managers.
This role opens and/or closes shifts and must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area for yourself and other employees
Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
Maintain packaging flow by ensuring adequate product levels at each station
Ensure quotas are met by observing Packaging Support team members and training/coaching Maintain high-quality standards during shifts including constant QA/QC of all products being prepped and produced
Ability to work well with others in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency
Communicate discrepancies in quantities or quality of product
Perform opening and closing duties Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products; storing food products in compliance with safety practices
Maintain and comply with sanitation and safety standard; maintaining a clean and organized packaging area and work environment
Perform visual quality inspections on products, minimize waste where possible Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Packaging Support employees on proper procedures, techniques and compliance protocol
Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers and/or Directors Makes recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Packaging Support team Assist the Production Manager or Packaging Supervisor as needed Ensure a safe working environment; reviewing and communicating daily on all safety related topics of discussion

At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience
Must have experience and familiarity with food manufacturing, sanitation and safety regulations
Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency Computer
Skills:
Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
Language
Skills:
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written Math
Skills:
Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
Ability to maintain/manage confidential information
State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
ServSafe or Food Handlers Card preferred
Will be required to submit to a background check
Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications
Benefits
Compensation:
As a non-exempt employee, you'll receive a competitive hourly wage of $22.00-$26.75/hr paid biweekly, overtime, 11 paid holidays, 80 hours of PTO and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
