Position Summary

The Assembler 2 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

Use electric soldering equipment to the IPC-A-610B, Class 3 standard;
Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, Apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding;
Follow written and verbal instructions;
Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision;
Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures;
Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing;
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 6S standards;
Maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record;
Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures;
Additional job duties and tasks as needed;
Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed;
Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned and instructed by Lead Tech / Supervisor

Qualifications

Education:

Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience;

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in an electronics/manufacturing environment or completed OJT training for at least 5 products;

Skills:

Able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English;
Effective oral and written communication;
Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed;
Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned;
Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun;
Lift and Carry up to 30lbs;
Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings;
Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operation;
Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures;
Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering;
Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures;
Experience with MS Office Suite;
Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts

Candidate Requirement:
Candidate must pass a hands-on assessment to be moved to the in-person interview stage of the recruitment process. Candidates unable to pass the assessment will not move forward in the process.

Physical Requirements:

Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities;
Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side;
Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands;
Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf;
Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded;
Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling, exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
