The Substance Use Services
- Resource Coordinator supports Sewa Uusim Program operations and is the lead staff in building strategic approaches to assessing need by creating awareness, providing accurate information, and supports the implement of programs, events, and activities focusing on the impact of substance misuse. The incumbent is responsible for the development and coordination of culturally responsive tribal wide services and activities, development and maintenance of community partnerships for children, youth, and families within the PYT community.
- May perform supervisory duties for community members and youth that are working within the SUCP Sewa Uusim Community Partnerships may include prioritize and assign work, ensure youth are trained, follow policies and procedures, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- Work closely with the Community Services Manager to discuss projects and collaboration efforts within the PYT community.
- Assist Program Manager with coordinating meetings, activities, and follow up of the advisory boards, coalitions, and key stake holders.
- Coordinate support services including educational, community groups and resources focus programs for Sewa Uusim youth and families, wraparound teams, other departments, and community services.
- Write, review, and update semi-annual and annual reports, summarize activities, and program progress required by funding agency.
- Implement activities, including but not limited to, focus areas, wraparound, system of care principals, and youth coalitions.
- Present and facilitate on key areas such as systems of care, wellness, alcohol and substances abuse and other prevention areas for youth.
- Assist with the development and implementation of assessment tools and procedures, including, but not limited to, the creation of a database, survey tools, and reporting documents analyzing the data.
- Participate in locally and nationally affiliated youth organizations such as Youth MOVE.
- Develop, contribute, and maintain an activities/events calendar, newsletter and other marketing/outreach materials for Sewa Uusim focused on Youth.
- Assist other Sewa Uusim Resource Coordinators and staff in coordinating activities, vents, and workshops.
- Assure the Tobacco Abuse Prevention Program objectives, reports, and requirements are complete.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
- Report preparation techniques;
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations;
- Community and tribal resources;
- Applicable theories and principles related to youth and family behavioral health, using a wraparound service model and Systems of Care principals;
- Behavioral Health policies and procedures;
- English language, grammar, and punctuation;
- Behavioral Health Life Skills training models;
- HIPAA and confidentiality requirements in a Behavioral Health setting;
- Understand Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.
- Manage and execute multiple tasks;
- Exercise judgment and discretion;
- Prioritize and assign work;
- Maintain files and records;
- Work independently and within Teams;
- Develop and prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, articles, documents and forms;
- Motivate others by providing positive encouragement;
- Group planning and facilitation;
- Provide support to families in the program;
- Work on a multi-disciplinary team of providers at all levels of training and experience within and outside of the community;
- Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.
Associate's Degree in a related field and/or two (2) years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
PreferredBachelor's Degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience.
AND
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;
- This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends;
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
