The Mel Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Program Coordinator based on our Phoenix campus. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual to help collaborate with health departments, plan community engagement activities, with various health departments and community partners to organize outreach programs, events, and initiatives that promote community involvement and address local needs.
Duties & Responsibilities- Serve as a liaison between MEZCOPH and community members, ensuring effective and transparent communication channels and addressing concerns or feedback primarily from the Phoenix and Maricopa communities.
- Provide support with existing community engagement activities, which will include materials development, events, speaker series, presentations to students, teachers, community members, and health professionals throughout the year.
- Assist with tracking and reporting of the impact of community engagement conducted by MEZCOPH with outreach to youth, adults, and life-long non-credit learning opportunities.
- Coordinate and monitor the Street Medicine Phoenix (SMP) Public Health Programming such as organizing and leading community events and workshops geared towards high-risk populations with an emphasis on health promotion and health education.
- Coordinate, train, and supervise SMP Public Health Volunteers.
- Maintain community partnerships: attend and represent the SMP Public Health Program at external U of A meetings and networking events and attend all SMP multi-institutional meetings with collaborating partners, and other related activities.
- Keep accurate data collection for the SMP-Public Health program with data entry, reporting, ordering materials & supplies, and tracking inventory.
Skills and Abilities
- Ablity to multi-task and address multiple priorities while working independently.
- Ability to provide excellent spoken and written communication and networking skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting public health and community engagement.
- Ability to understand and apply the concept of Tribal Sovereignty in developing and evaluating tribal programs.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft software and database systems.
- Ability to follow up on tasks.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience may be required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent learning in Public Health or related field preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish speaking and writing preferred.
