Full Time Clinical Nurse Leader Position – Night Shift in CVICU at Northwest Medical CenterWhat you'll do:
The 15-bed Cardiac and Vascular Intensive Care Unit provides quality care to higher acuity patients requiring therapies, complex cardiothoracic surgeries, and mechanical devices.
The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) RN is responsible and accountable to the Department Director for coordinating and effectively managing the unit during the assigned shift. The CNL performs nursing duties as needed and is qualified.

The role involves ensuring compliance with nursing practice standards, delegating and supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, and using independent judgment to deliver optimal patient care and resource utilization.

Essential Functions- Supervise and support nursing and support staff, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and coaching.
- Oversee patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring adherence to care plans.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and address issues.
- Ensure effective communication among team members, including shift handoffs and huddles.
- Manage patient flow, bed assignments, and resource utilization.
- Conduct rounding to assess care delivery and satisfaction.
- Monitor safety standards, infection control, and hospital policies, addressing issues promptly.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
- Maintain medical supplies and ensure cost-effective resource use.
- Facilitate ongoing staff education and professional development.
- Lead infection prevention efforts and conduct audits.
- Respond to emergencies, providing leadership and direct care as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and ensure policy compliance.
