• Location: Tucson, AZ 85755 (Oro Valley area) — Arizona travel nursing opportunity
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (02/16/2026 – 05/18/2026)
• Shift: Nights, 19:00–07:30 (12-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
• Patient Ratio: 9:1
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,460–$1,540

• Minimum 2+ years of recent psychiatric or behavioral health RN experience required (mental health nursing, inpatient psych)
• Active Arizona RN license or Compact RN license eligible (Arizona nursing jobs / travel nurse friendly)
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PMH-BC a plus
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, therapeutic communication, suicide risk assessment, and patient safety
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with multidisciplinary team

• Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to adult patients using the nursing process and evidence-based behavioral health practices
• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, document findings, and report clinical changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer psychotropic and other prescribed medications safely, monitor for side effects, and document administration per policy
• Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques; respond to medical and behavioral emergencies, including CPR and code team participation
• Participate in development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans and safety plans
• Support group facilitation, milieu management, and therapeutic communication to promote patient stabilization
• Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise support staff to maintain quality patient care
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and policy adherence
