This is a 13-week contract position.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse holds accountability for providing comprehensive care to patients in the Emergency Room by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policies. The registered nurse will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department. The role involves maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and delegating patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
Direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care are also key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients.
- Utilize the Nursing Process effectively according to hospital guidelines.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in care delivery.
- Manage patient care priorities and delegate tasks to staff appropriately.
- Supervise and direct personnel in delivering patient care.
- Must possess a valid RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required.
- Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
- Charge Nurse experience preferred (additional compensation applies).
