- Registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit providing high level care for Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
- Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
- Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) preps patients for procedures and recovers them post procedure.
- Works with high risk, high acuity patients with superb outcomes.
- Performs bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV).
- Admit patients, prep for Cath procedures including charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation.
- Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV) and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE).
- Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation.
- Sedate, circulate, and document bedside procedures CV & TEE.
- Discharge patients including teaching, documentation, and physical discharge.
Job Details
- RN license in Arizona or compact state license required.
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, or Surgery Center considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the job's specialty.
Job Requirements
- Varies: 3 x 12 hour shifts: Days , , ).
- Call requirements include Saturday and Sunday.
- Call is on a rotational basis approximately once every six weeks, may be as frequent as once every 4 weeks.
