Overview
Naph Care is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team of medical professionals in Tucson, AZ where we manage healthcare for individuals incarcerated in the ASPC‑Tucson.
Pay rates range from $45.00 to $49.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will work with the Director of Nursing, correctional staff, and other medical professionals to provide quality care to residents while managing the nursing team and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
ResponsibilitiesAssistant Director of Nursing supervises staff and ensures policies and procedures are followed.
Duties include:
- Collaborating with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to enhance patient care while maintaining a safe environment
- Assist Director of Nursing in managing staff, staffing needs, hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Communicate with healthcare and correctional staff to coordinate patient care with outside providers
- Monitor compliance with site‑specific and company policies; take corrective action and ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC standards
- Create and manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage
- Ensure equipment and supplies, including pharmaceuticals and OTC medications, are stocked and available
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Develop staff and conduct in‑service training
- Conduct daily clinical rounds to review documentation, orders, and care plans
- Assist in daily triage/sick call, minor procedures, and patient assessments
- Participate in meetings as required by contract compliance
- Mitigate risks by addressing hazards, health and safety concerns, and reporting issues
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Arizona
- Active BLS CPR certification (AHA preferred)
- Two years of clinical and progressive management experience in correctional or acute care settings
- Ability to manage complex staffing and clinical supplies
- Excellent communication skills managing and training medical staff
- Knowledge of nursing principles, occupational health, infectious disease management, health care laws, regulations, and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to Code of Conduct and facility policies
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities
Ability to stand long periods, lift/move up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk, perform CPR, and maintain balance and endurance throughout shift.
