Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital Nursing Manager
Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to oversee nursing and behavioral health tech staff, ensure high-quality patient care, manage administrative tasks, and serve as a bridge between clinical teams and hospital administration.
Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84-bed, short‑term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating nursing and BHT staff; assigning workloads and delegating tasks to ensure efficient patient care flow.
- Patient Care Oversight: Ensuring delivery of high-quality care, consulting on treatment plans, and occasionally providing direct patient care in critical situations.
- Administrative Duties: Managing budgets, scheduling, maintaining patient records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Policy Implementation: Developing and enforcing nursing and BHT standards, protocols, and procedures to maintain best practices.
- Communication: Acting as a liaison between nursing staff, doctors, patients, families, and senior management; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.
- Professional Development: Identifying training opportunities, providing feedback, and fostering a supportive work environment to enhance staff performance and satisfaction.

- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Nursing Administration and/or dedicated leadership role in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
- Must be currently licensed to practice in AZ by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
- CPR certification upon hire and successful completion of training in Handle with Care within 30 days of employment, prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
