Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Trauma Team

- University Medicine Tucson is seeking a dynamic and team-focused Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our elite Trauma team. As the only accredited Level 1 Trauma Center serving Southern Arizona, we deliver exceptional patient care with compassion and expertise.

- Develop your clinical expertise
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- Interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications
- Participate in education and research initiatives
- Trauma Bay Presence:
Active participation during trauma activations - Patient Evaluation:
Comprehensive assessment of trauma patients - Clinical Management:
Ordering tests, consulting specialists, and arranging admissions - Procedural
Skills:
Performing chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, laceration repairs, I&Ds, and occasional intubations - Continuity of Care:
Serving as a consistent presence on the team - Team Communication:
Coordinating care through various channels - Documentation:
Maintaining thorough patient records - Discharge Planning:
Working with case managers for smooth transitions of care - First Assist:
Surgical assistance when needed

Full-time | Monday
- Sunday | Four; ten-hour shifts per week - Shifts:

- Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Arizona license or eligibility
- Surgical patient care experience preferred (new graduates considered)
- RNFA certificate (Registered Nurse First Assist)
- BLS (basic life support)
- ATLS (advanced trauma life support)
- ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support)
- PALS (pediatric advanced life support)
- ABLS (advanced burn life support)
- NRP (neonatal resuscitation program)
