Our Par anesthesia department is seeking PCU RNs (not PACU RNs) to work in our adult inpatient overflow holding areas in our general PACU and Same Day Surgery areas. Patients are inpatient or observation and are holding for a bed within our 625 bed Level I Trauma facility.

Minimum 2 years recent PCU experience and former travel experience is required.

13wks, Night, 36hrs, 06/08/2026.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with ongoing assessment.
  • Monitor patient vitals, respond to changes, and elevate as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality measures.
  • Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and transitions.
  • Meet performance targets and contribute to pipeline-based planning for patient throughput.
  • Identify and participate in professional development opportunities to advance skills.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families about care plans.
  • Assist in clinical research activities or process improvements as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive, growth-oriented attitude and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
Experience/Qualifications
  • RN license in good standing with valid BLS/ACLS as required for PCU.
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical or PCU nursing experience.
  • Ability to monitor vitals, interpret changes, and elevate promptly.
  • Administration of medications and IV therapies per physician orders and protocols.
  • Document accurately in electronic health records and maintain quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for care planning and patient transitions.
  • Meet performance targets and contribute to patient throughput planning.
