Job Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Position Summary

Sign on Bonus:
Up to $15,000 SOB Based on Eligibility.

Responsibilities
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans; monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Assessment – An RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient. Assessment includes physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
    • Initial assessment
    • Re‑assessment
    • Focused assessment based on patient condition, setting and population
  • Problem Identification – Clinical judgment about the patient's response to actual or potential health conditions or needs.
  • Planning and Outcomes – Sets measurable and achievable short‑ and long‑range goals in collaboration with the patient and family. Goals are written in the patient's care plan.
    • Establishing daily goals with the patient and family
    • Formulating a plan of care
    • Transition or discharge planning
  • Implementation – Nursing care is implemented according to the care plan, ensuring continuity of care during hospitalization and for discharge. Care is documented in the patient's record.
    • Ensures patient safety
    • Medication administration
    • Provision of ordered treatments
    • Patient/Family education
    • Provision of nursing care – Documentation in healthcare record
  • Evaluation – Continuously evaluates the patient's status and effectiveness of nursing care, modifying the care plan as needed. Care coordination actions include delegation, supervision and prioritization.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Education:

      Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Continuing education requirements as defined within the CARE program.
    • Experience:

      One (1) year as an RN.
    • Licensure/

      Certifications:
      • Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona licensed in 30 days.
      • Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • American Heart Association and others as required by individual department as noted in Attachment

        A.
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Education:

      Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Licensure/

      Certifications:
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
      • American Heart Association
      • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
      • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or others as required by individual department.
